Terminology: Movements

Of course, everyone knows that the market trends. It doesn’t matter if its the stock market, foreign currency market, or any other chart, there are trends. Then, there are trends within trends. Within my posts, I will talk about a “15min break” or the currency pair moving on the “1hr” or the “4hr” has broken. When I use these terms, I am, of course, speaking of these different charts where 1 candlestick=15 minutes, 1 candlestick = 1hr, 1 candlestick = 4hr, etc.

The chart below shows examples of this concept that I’m discussing. This shows an example of trends within trends within trends. The chart shows a GBP/USD Daily downtrend with 4hr trends, and 1hr trends. I can’t show 15min trends because this shows such a larger view.

Trends within Trends within a Trend

Therefore, what you want to know is:

  1. Where is the Daily going over the long haul
  2. Where is the 4hr going within the Daily
  3. And then where the 1hr is going within the 4hr…

A trend within a trend within a trend.
